Waste Water Heat Recovery for Showers
Recoup Supporting the UK Pilot for the 50L Home Coalition
Recoup Energy Solutions is pleased to be supporting the next phase of the 50L Home Coalition as the programme moves into its UK pilot.
Following the announcement that the Coalition has secured £1.5 million in funding through Ofwat’s Water Efficiency Lab, the next stage will see a large-scale UK trial across 150 homes, exploring how smarter design, technology and behaviour can help deliver whole-home water efficiency.

Recoup and Mira Showers will be working closely with the Kohler Sustainable Living Team to help deliver the UK pilot, supporting the programme as it explores practical solutions to reduce both water and energy demand.
The UK pilot will include a diverse mix of new-build, retrofit, private and social housing, providing valuable insight into how whole-home water efficiency can be achieved across different types of homes.
The 50L Home Coalition is a global, multi-stakeholder initiative bringing together businesses, governments and NGOs (Non-Governmental Organisations) to tackle water scarcity and climate change. Its ambition is to enable households to use just 50 litres of water per person per day, while maintaining quality of life through smarter products, technology and behaviour.
Ian Steward, General Manager at Recoup, said:
“We’re delighted to be supporting the UK pilot of the 50L Home Coalition alongside Mira Showers and the Kohler Sustainable Living Team. It’s a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a collaborative initiative that brings together organisations from across the sector to explore practical ways of improving both water and energy efficiency. We look forward to supporting the programme and seeing the valuable insights the UK pilot will generate as it progresses.”
