Waste Water Heat Recovery for Showers
Recoup Pipe HEX Active Installation Video
The Recoup Pipe HEX Active Installation video details the full process for installing the Recoup Pipe HEX Active and the Recoup Pipe HEX Rd Active. The newest product to be added to the Recoup Waste Water Heat Recovery for Showers (WWHRS) range.
The Recoup Pipe HEX for single floor applications
The Recoup Pipe HEX Active leverages the incredible energy-saving, and carbon-reducing benefits of Recoup’s award-winning, and market-leading Recoup Pipe HEX vertical WWHRS, combining it with a low-power staged pump and innovative, proprietary buffer tank. This new product now allows the highest efficiency WWHRS be applied to ground-floor showers, apartments, or modular bathroom pods with contained services. Scenarios that previously could only use lower-performing horizontal WWHRS systems. The Pipe HEX Active also uniquely opens up the retrofit and adaptation market to WWHRS. Making installation to existing showers easier and less disruptive as all required works can be contained within the shower area.
The Active system can also be applied to the shorter Pipe HEX Rd (1700mm), as the Recoup Pipe HEX Rd Active. A slightly lower efficiency system that can be installed where installation height is restricted below standard.
Recoup Pipe HEX Active Installation for Energy Saving
Waste Water Heat Recovery products use a passive heat exchanger to recover heat energy from waste shower water, transferring it to mains cold water and producing preheated water. This preheated water is heated to around 25-28°C and is sent back to the cold side of the shower mixer and/or the water heater. This lowers the demand for hot water in the shower and requires less energy for hot water production. WWHRS literally prevents energy (and money) from going down the drain but does not change the users showering experience. It will typically reduce the energy required for every shower by up to 55%.
