Waste Water Heat Recovery for Showers
Recoup CPD Programme: Greener Learning, Real-World Impact

At Recoup, sustainability isn’t just a product feature; it’s a core value woven into everything we do. That commitment is at the heart of our CPD Programme, which has grown into a flagship example of how modern construction education can be smarter, cleaner, and more impactful. The CPD for Trees initiative is part of our commitment.
CPD for Trees
For every certificated attendee, Recoup contributes £6.00 in funding via carbon-offsetting partner, Ecologi, to support a wider portfolio of sustainability projects.
The “CPD for Trees” incentive evolved back in December 2023, to broaden the types of environmental projects supported.
Recoup’s expanded sustainability initiative now supports a diverse range of impactful environmental projects. These include UK and global tree planting for reforestation, UK-based wildflower meadow and wetland habitat restoration, and efforts focused on protecting wildlife habitats and enhancing carbon sequestration. Additionally, funding is directed toward renewable energy and carbon-reduction projects, creating a broader and more balanced ecological impact both in the UK and worldwide.
Recoup CPD participants can see the projects their attendance has helped support on the Recoup Ecologi profile page. Creating a visible, traceable impact from just a single hour of professional learning.
To date, this initiative has resulted in:
- 13,300+ trees planted
- Support for multiple biodiversity and carbon-reducing schemes
- An estimated long-term carbon offset of 133–532 tonnes CO₂ per year for trees planted and an extra 251 tonnes of CO₂ avoided.
Sustainable Online CPD Delivery
The Recoup CPD Programme was born from our ecological ethos: reduce unnecessary travel, lower carbon emissions, and challenge outdated norms. Even before the rise of virtual meetings in 2020 due to the pandemic, Recoup had already shifted most of its training and engagement online, replacing road trips with remote collaboration wherever possible.
This early adoption laid the groundwork for today’s next-generation CPD experience. Delivered from a purpose-built in-house studio.
The Recoup CPD Programme is delivered using advanced digital tools to create an engaging and immersive learning experience. It features green screen technology for visually rich presentations, multi-camera broadcasting that brings energy and clarity to every session, and live product displays and demonstrations for hands-on understanding. Additionally, the setup allows for real-time technical support, enabling instant visual communication with on-site teams to quickly resolve issues without the need for in-person visits.
The CPD’s can be tailored to specific teams or sectors, from introductory WWHRS overviews to in-depth specification guidance and toolbox training. The introductory CPDs run the first Thursday of every month. For tailored CPDs these can be booked via the CPD calendar.
With over 800 professionals trained to date, the programme has not only helped raise awareness of WWHRS, it has also avoided an estimated 6.75 tonnes of CO₂ emissions by replacing 32,000 miles of travel.
Sustainable. Smart. Certified.
Whether you’re an architect, developer, M&E consultant, or sustainability specialist, the Recoup CPD Programme offers:

Introduction to Waste Water Heat Recovery for Showers (WWHRS) CPD
The next Recoup Monthly CPD takes place on Thursday 7th August 2025, from 12:30 to 13:30. This free, live online session will explore how WWHRS can significantly reduce energy use in residential, non-residential, and retrofit projects. It’s ideal for architects, engineers, developers, and sustainability professionals looking to improve building performance, meet SAP/Part L and BREEAM requirements, and earn CPD credits. As part of our CPD for Trees initiative, Recoup will also donate to environmental projects for every certificated attendee.
